Eve Kopecky- Text Analysis 1

I chose the book Jay Gould Harmon with Maine folks: a picture of life in the Maine woods. I found this book during the last practicum and have never heard of it before. I went onto the Lexos website and each time I tried to "scrub" my text this error message would pop up, and I'm still not certain what I was doing wrong.

So I moved on and went into the "Visualize" tab and made a Word Cloud

Since I don't know anything about this novel yet, the only words that really stand out are "Jay" and "Gould". Which makes sense, since this name is in the title and are two of the most common words in the text, I must draw the conclusion that Jay is the main character of the book but probably not the narrator since he is probably referred to several times. Next I wanted to find out what kind of novel this is, so i searched the word "Love"and "Nature" into a Rollingwindow graph with the parameter of 20 for the window size.Lindsay Blackie - Text Analysis 2

Neither of these graphs are very conclusive because neither word seems to be used very often throughout the text. I guess I'll have to read it to find out what it's all about!
