Aaron Woldhagen - Social Network Analysis

Instead of mapping a work of literature, I decided to map a movie. Specifically Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I quickly realized that I had undertaken an extremely ambitious task and quickly got very confused. I wasn't really sure what information I was supposed to be taking down, so I ended up taking note of every time two characters spoke to one another in the movie (limit once per scene). I realized about halfway through the movie that this wasn't really necessary for this particular task because the graph would only show one interaction per pair of characters, however, I continued on because I remembered the images that we have seen in our readings of instances where experiments like this were done and the size of the arrows indicated how often each character would talk to each other.

(I can't get the images to rotate correctly :/)

There were several unnamed characters who spoke who were left out of this list.

Several more characters were left out of the actual map because my head was starting to hurt. However, it would have been interesting to see what it would look like if a computer were crunching my information rather than my hands.
